The biggest concern with this style is a fair one, because a body isn't flat: something that looks perfectly symmetrical on paper can end up feeling skewed across a curved arm or shoulder if the transfer isn't planned carefully.
That's why we develop ornamental designs directly against body shape rather than on paper first: testing radii and axes before the first line is set, so the pattern and the curve of the body work together and the piece stays balanced from every angle.

Do you offer Blackwork?
No, we don't offer Blackwork, neither solid black coverage of an entire body part nor decorative work with deliberately left-out white areas. If decorative, symmetrical patterns are what you're after, Ornamental covers exactly that direction, with finer detail and fitted to your body shape.
What's the difference between Ornamental and Maori?
Both styles work with geometric patterns, but the technique differs: Ornamental is done in Fine Line technique, thin, light lines. Maori works deeper and with more contrast, bold black areas alternating with fine lines, rooted in New Zealand's Tā moko tradition with its own cultural meaning. Ornamental is freer in its imagery, mandalas, florals, symmetry, without that cultural origin.
What nature motifs work well for Ornamental?
Leaf and flower motifs, along with delicate, fine mandalas, are among the most requested designs in this style. The sun is also in strong, fast-growing demand right now. Lighthouse, tree, mountain and landscape are additional motifs with potential, though we haven't validated search volume for those yet.
